En Edukame siempre os hablamos del corazón, de la importancia del amor, de dejar expresar los sentimientos y de respetarlos tanto de los niños como de los adultos. Pero hoy os queremos hablar de estas enfermedades, pues son las causantes de un 30 % de las muertes registradas en nuestro planeta.
Este tipo de dolencias no respetan razas, credos o sexos. La mayoría de los factores de riesgo pueden controlarse desde la niñez cambiando nuestros hábitos y educando a nuestros hijos para llevar un estilo de vida más saludable.
Las principales causas de las enfermedades cardiovasculares son: la alimentación, el tabaquismo y el sedentarismo. Los hábitos son aprendidos de los padres como primeros modelos, después del resto del entorno familiar y por último de la comunidad en su sentido más amplio. Promover y fomentar un corazón sano es labor de todos.
Alimentación saludable.
El niño debe comer una variedad de alimentos para que reciba los nutrientes que necesita en su crecimiento normal, limitando los alimentos ricos en grasas y en azúcar.
Una dieta saludable puede ayudar al niño a permanecer en un peso normal, lo cual será básico a la hora de evitar ciertos problemas relacionados con la obesidad, como la diabetes o las enfermedades cardiacas.
Tabaquismo.
Alrededor de la mitad de los fumadores adolescentes tienen padres que fuman, por lo que el tabaco ha sido un habitual en sus casas desde pequeños. Como padres debemos procurar no animar a nuestros hijos al tabaquismo, es muy importante evitar su exposición al humo de tabaco ambiental y tratar de cesar en ese hábito.
Actividad física.
La televisión, los videojuegos, internet, han provocado que los niños dediquen en la actualidad una parte muy grande de su tiempo a estas actividades de tipo sedentario. Es importante que los pequeños practiquen algún deporte y realicen actividades al aire libre que generen una serie de beneficios en su salud física y mental.
La práctica de actividades físicas influye en su crecimiento y el desarrollo saludable de su sistema cardiorrespiratorio y muscular, ayudando a mantener un peso saludable y previniendo enfermedades cardiovasculares tales como la hipertensión o el colesterol.
Si tu hijo es aún muy pequeño para practicar un deporte de competición puedes realizar con él alguna actividad como la psicomotricidad o la matronatación».
